HOPE

Today is the 65th Republic Day of my country, IndiaI think this line from Neil Young's song "Hey Hey My My (into the black)", spiritually applies to our country's state and the stance that we need to/ought to take. With the stuff that's happening all around us, we can either fight (in which ever small way that we can) or shut up and care two hoots! Well, I think change starts from the personal level. Everyday I see educated peeps doing things that are so not right! We can't just preach anymore, we need to practice. Small bits add to the big picture. Whether its keeping one's surroundings clean, recycling or just being honest and kind or saving electricity..As a designer I hope to use my design/illustrations (as that's what I do the best) to just talk about these things..
and maybe, just maybe it'll help in some which way...

TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY: DOORS

There's something about these rusty old doors and window (some wooden, some iron) that's so alluring. I found these beauties during my travels in India.

THEME: MYSTICAL HIMALAYAS

"Located in the heart of Kumaon, Almora offers a tranquil neighborhood that allows you to let your hair down and relax. Snow view Cottage is just the place that gives a glimpse of the beauty of the Great Himalayas and brings you closer to the wild."
I was to capture this in an illustration and then turn it into a poster. So here's what I made...!

VISUAL NOTE TAKING

GARBAGE IN THE MIND
Went for a 'Picnic' the other day, to a place called Bashirhat (about 50kms from Calcutta). Loads of people go there in the winter for a day out. There's lot of space where you can cook or maybe barbecue (used to have a lot of fun doing it at home in Vizag or in Coventry,UK with my friends and family). But alas! That's not the way we do it here..not in this part of the neighborhood, at least. It was such a pretty and serene place with ponds full of fish, coconut and palm trees everywhere.... an idyllic village in the background with brick houses, farmers tending to their crop... yellow and green fields of mustard and paddy. You get the drift...
But here's what the educated peeps from the "CITY" did to the place...(I took visual notes of whatever was happening around me- and that was the only way I could protest, sadly...)

COMMUNICATION MATERIAL- INDIAN MYTHOLOGY

Here's my illustration depicting the story of Aruna- the Sun God's charioteer. Such interesting lives
Gods led. Well, I guess that makes them a bit more relatable!

COMMUNICATION MATERIAL

Info Graphic/ Communication Material/ Illustration designed for Cinnamon Stays (a home stay based in Gurgaon, India). The graphic describes the various things that one can do in the holy city of Varanasi. I have tried to capture the vivid colors and the organised chaos of the city in my illustration. Must say, I had a lot of fun making it!
